OUR PROCESS
Every tray of microgreens and micro herbs is grown with precision and attention to detail. From selecting high-quality seeds to nurturing each crop under carefully controlled conditions, every stage is managed to support healthy growth, peak freshness and vibrant flavour. Freshly delivered to your door, microgreens and micro herbs bring exceptional quality and freshness straight to your kitchen.
Growing Medium
The soilless growing medium is a balanced combination of coco coir and perlite. This combination provides excellent water retention and drainage, creating an ideal growing environment for healthy seedlings. No compost is added, helping to maintain a clean and consistent growing medium. Carefully controlled nutrients are supplied through the irrigation water, providing the plants with the essential nutrients required throughout their growth. This approach supports the consistent production of fresh, healthy and high-quality microgreens.

Seeds Used
The seeds are sourced from various local suppliers across South Africa. High-quality, untreated seeds with excellent germination rates are carefully selected to ensure healthy, vigorous growth. This results in microgreens and micro herbs that are vibrant, fresh and of consistently high quality.

Planting and Germination
Different planting densities are used to achieve the desired results for each microgreen variety. Once the seeds have been sown, the trays are placed in a germination chamber for several days to encourage even and consistent germination. Once established, the trays are moved into the light, where a combination of natural and assisted lighting is used to support healthy growth.

Watering
Currently, tap water is the only viable option for providing a clean and safe water source. A dechlorination method is used to remove unwanted chlorine from the water. When necessary, pH adjustments are made to support optimal nutrient absorption and healthy microgreen growth.

Quality Control
This is a process that takes place throughout the growing cycle, ensuring that the microgreens remain healthy and vigorous at every stage. Crop failures can occur from time to time, but with years of experience growing microgreens, these are relatively rare. Every tray is methodically inspected for any issues before being packaged, ensuring that only healthy, high-quality microgreens are supplied.

Packaging
Packaging plays an important role in presentation, but its primary purpose is to protect the microgreens while minimising environmental impact. All packaging used is compostable, and used trays can be returned for cleaning and reuse, helping to reduce unnecessary waste.Disclaimer: The glue currently used is neither biodegradable nor compostable. Compostable alternatives are being explored.

HOW TO ORDER
All microgreens and micro herbs are grown to order, helping to ensure consistent supply and quality. Weekly recurring orders through the online Order Request Form are the preferred method of ordering. Please allow 7–10 days lead time from order confirmation to delivery for new orders.Orders require weekly confirmation prior to delivery, with delivery days updated monthly and multiple delivery days available each week. The Order Request Form is primarily used as a growing guideline, allowing orders to be changed, paused or cancelled at any time.
